满帆 University is proud to celebrate the women of gaming and esports, including 满帆 faculty and staff recently recognized by gaming platform * gamehers at their annual *gamehers 奖.

The*gamehers is a platform that invites content creators, 飘带, 电子竞技运动员, and other women in the games industry to connect, highlight their achievements, and share their experiences with like-minded individuals. At their annual award show, women from throughout gaming and esports are highlighted for their contributions to the industry.

“从球员, 开发人员, and 飘带 to industry magnates, we harness the power of our global community to honor and celebrate the contributions and advancements driven by women, underlining the importance of gender equality in the realm of digital play,” said * gamehers Executive Operations Manager Leonie Leonard. “The*gamehers 奖 is integral to our mission and why we exist – to support, 放大, and celebrate women and femme-identifying individuals in gaming, and recognize them for their dedication to creating content, building communities, and empowering others.”

满帆 University faculty, 学生, and staff were nominated in several categories at the 2024 award show hosted in Atlanta, 乔治亚州. Nominations included Journalist of the Year (满帆 student Rachel Olsen-Cooper), Guardian of the Year (满帆 Instructor Ashley “AJ” Jones), Top Educator of the Year (Instructor Bec Godsey), and a nomination for a Lifetime Achievement Award for Sari Kitelyn, 满帆’s Director of 的电子竞技 and Project Development.

全帆舰队, 满帆’s esports organization, was also recognized at the awards with a nomination in the Top Collegiate Organization of The Year 类别.

Game business and esports instructor Bec Godsey took home the award for PodcastHer of the Year 而电子竞技 & Coffee, an organization run by Sari Kitelyn and Ashley Jones, took home a win for 最佳DEI倡议.

“We are a space where people can be safe to find the best versions of themselves. Where we celebrate the growth of individuals as the growth of a movement. This space has brought together the most incredibly inspiring community that truly motivate us, and push us to keep going, to keep fighting to be heard.” Said Sari after the awards. “The industry is changing and we maintain our unwavering commitment to that positive change.”
