Rol和o Ramos is one of the Course Directors for the 商业智能 master’s program 和 has over 30 years of experience developing the data-driven 市场营销 side of the business.

“I graduated from the University of Miami with my MBA, with concentrations in 市场营销, 金融, 和 computer science… My background has been in consulting, 银行, 市场营销, 分析, 信息工程, 等等,罗兰多开始说。.

Rol和o has worked for several notable companies, including 艺术hur Andersen (now known as Accenture), Barnett银行, 和大众银行. Despite his success in the 金融 和 市场营销 worlds, Rol和o believes his calling has always been in academia.

“I had the opportunity to come to 满帆, which was amazing because I have always been a teacher at heart in every role, in every organization that I've been involved with. I always gravitated toward training 和 educating others, whether it be customers or employees,罗兰多解释道.

He originally came to 满帆 to develop 和 teach the final project courses for the 音乐行业 和 娱乐业务 programs, but was asked to help launch the 商业智能 master’s program eight years ago. 从那时起, Rol和o has dedicated his time 和 energy to teaching graduate students the ins 和 outs of business intelligence.

The program walks students through the process of developing a “full data-driven solution plan” for a company of their choosing, with the final solution being their capstone thesis.

“We have [students] take a look at the individual ‘client’ 和 re搜索 how that organization is doing 和 how they are doing specifically when it comes to responding to those forces that may be impacting this industry… Maybe there's increased competition or technology has changed.”

Rol和o’s career experience comes into play often when helping students find a way to develop their solutions. “[I bring] well-re搜索ed 和 proven techniques for them to solve their problems, 发展他们的业务, 更有效地运作, 和 reach customers better.”

另外, because 商业智能 is a master’s program, students are provided customized guidance on what they need to succeed in the real world.

“I have been the 市场营销 VP in different organizations, [so] I know what the expectations are from the employer side, 和 I ensure that in every bit of feedback that I provide to my students, I give them actionable [feedback].”

Some of this feedback includes helping students identify the gaps in their experience 和 what else they need to do or learn to become ideal c和idates for their dream positions. This could include getting extra certifications, 建立更多的联系, conducting more market re搜索, or clarifying each student’s long-term career goals.

“We also take them through a critical review of their LinkedIn profile,” Rol和o adds.

Having taught at 满帆 for over 15 years, Rol和o still sincerely enjoys his workplace 和 the academic atmosphere it fosters: “满帆 has resonated with me from the very start.”
